Boise Tuesday Musicale is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose purpose is to advance the interest and promote the culture of musical art in Boise, provide awards and financial support for young musicians, aid and encourage musical education, and join with the Idaho and the National Federation of Music Clubs in their goals for the advancement of music.
Boise Tuesday Musicale originated in 1915 as the Boise Music Club and founded Boise Music Week as its first annual event. With the growth of Boise Tuesday Musicale, more events have been created and hosted, providing many opportunities for the enjoyment and fulfillment of music for younger and older generations in the greater Boise community.
National Affiliation
Boise Tuesday Musicale was incorporated into the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) in 1942. NFMC is the world’s largest philanthropic music organization; one of only three music organizations to be charted by the United States Congress and the only music organization member of the United Nations. NFMC promotes legislation affecting music education and musical standards.
The mission of the National Federation of Music Clubs is “To promote American music and musicians, and to aid and encourage music education and appreciation of the arts.” The National Federation of Music Clubs gives over $100,000 annually in local, state, and national awards to provide financial assistance for student musicians to attend summer music camps and festivals and to further their musical education.
